Moose, Australia’s leading toy company, and Hinkler an independent publisher famous for books, crafts, puzzles and games, have donated over 10,000 books through amazing charity partners including: The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Igniting Change, Mirabel Foundation, Variety Children’s Charity, Katalyst Foundation, Monash Children’s Hospital and The Refugee and Asylum Seeker Toy Drive, to ensure that kids don’t go without this Christmas.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to once again deliver such life-changing support to our local communities. Creating spontaneity and joy in the lives of so many children is a priceless gift, and we are eternally grateful for the tireless efforts of the charities we are partnered with to make dreams come true this festive season.”

Nadika Garber, CEO at Hinkler

The two locally owned businesses are proud to share many core principles including generosity, inclusivity, empowerment, education, opportunity and a mission to create positive change in the world.

“As we worked with our local community partners, we recognised the opportunity to extend our reach and impact by partnering with another local, like-minded organisation. Our partnership with Hinkler has been exhilarating and rewarding with our companies joining forces to support some of the most amazing local charities. United by the mission of making children superhappy, the impact of our product donations and our teams’ time will bring moments of joy to those most in need as we head into the holiday season.”

Said Belinda Gruebner, CMO and Head of the Moose Happy Kids Foundation

Through these fantastic partnerships, the goods have been distributed around the country and will be sure to bring the superhappy to Aussie kids this year.

“Team work really does make the dream work, especially in the festive season! We are so grateful to our friends at Moose Toys and Hinkler, who donated these beautiful, brand new toys for Christmas. The gifts are on their way to 300 children this week — packed by our dedicated staff and delivered by our sector partner, West Welcome Wagon. Big thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to ensure it’s a Merry Christmas for these children.” Said Karen Quist, from the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum.

“The sun shone brightly as 250 kids and carers joined excited staff and volunteers for Mirabel’s annual end of year celebration. The kids revelled in fairy floss, popcorn, and an abundance of activities before making a mad dash to the present tent where they were able to choose a gift from the mountain of goodies kindly donated by Moose Toys and Hinkler. It was a perfect ending to their day.” Said Iman Mansour, Children’s Programs Coordinator at the Mirabel Foundation who support over 1900 children each year throughout Victoria and New South Wales. All of Mirabel’s programs provide vital support to children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use and are living with their kinship carers; members of their extended family, usually grandparents. Mirabel is inspired by the belief that ‘every child deserves a childhood.
